| Our History in Brief The Port Alberni TSUNAMI Swim Club history goes back many years and can boast that it has produced swimmers that have gone on to perform extremely well at the National and International level. Although there has been a swim club in Port Alberni since the pool was built in 1967, it wasn’t until Dec 6th 1985 that TSUNAMI was incorporated. The parents of interested swimmers did so for the purpose of ensuring the future of the club. |
| Our Vision The Port Alberni TSUNAMI Swim Club is an organization committed to the development of competitive swimmers at all skill levels and age groups up to the completion of university. While our focus is to teach competitive swimming, there are many other valuable life skills acquired through being part of a team environment. |
| Our Mission The mission of the Port Alberni TSUNAMI Swim Club is to promote; foster and teach the process of competitive swimming within a multi-level competitive swim structure. |
Our Values |
Our Goals The Port Alberni TSUNAMI Swim Club will provide a 9 to 11 month a year program where skill achievement and training are emphasized. This will enable every swimmer to develop to the full extent of their individual level of interest, commitment and ability. The Port Alberni TSUNAMI Swim Club will maintain an active volunteer Board of Directors whose purpose is primarily to: manage and administrate the finances of the club; officiate at swim meets; staff the events which provide the revenue to operate the club; and form and direct the various committees required to maintain TSUNAMI as a viable competitive swim club. The Port Alberni TSUNAMI Swim Club will ensure that communication flows throughout the membership and information relative to the successful operation of the club is dispersed promptly and thoroughly |
